“After my youngest son, Jordan Hart, passed away shortly after birth in 2019, I witnessed my older adolescent and teenage sons grieve their sibling in very different ways. Charlie Health has offered me the opportunity to support other families in my local community and across the nation; preventing the needless loss of a child or sibling.”
Fun Fact
I have been on every patch of grass or turf in San Diego, as I have helped develop, coach and manage our community's youth non-profit lacrosse program, Mission Trails Lacrosse.

“When I was a teenager, I suffered from depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. I spent time in four psychiatric facilities and ultimately spent one year at a residential treatment center 700 miles from home. Thankfully, I received the help I needed and now live a life of purpose, enjoyment, and fulfillment. I am grateful to be a part of the Charlie Health team, where we provide quality, accessible mental health care, helping families and children heal together.”
Fun Fact
I love eating local at all the great spots around Sacramento! I also enjoy the outdoors and exploring the hikes and nature we have here. Big Kings fan too, so you can find me at Golden 1 Center catching a game of hoops!
“Studies tell us that queer-identifying young people self-harm at a higher rate than the general population, a tragic yet unsurprising fact to me because I was one of them. I learned to deal with it on my own, but it doesn't have to be that way. While we support all teens, queer youth at Charlie Health get to connect with their peers and be led by a facilitator who understands the struggles they face. It is my job to ensure that no young person has to suffer in silence because we believe in and operate by the power of "me too."”
Fun Fact
I lived abroad as an English teacher in Taiwan for over six years. I'm here if you'd ever like some fun Taiwan travel tips or for the rest of Asia!
“We all know of a "Charlie" in our life that deserves access to equitable and evidence based treatment. When I was in high school one of my friends died by suicide. My father is an alcoholic who started drinking at age 12. The lives of both of my Charlies would look so much different had they had access to this life-saving care. It's my mission to help every current and future Charlie get connected to the love and care they deserve.”
Fun Fact
I love being outside and exploring what the East Bay has to offer. The next time you want to take a Sunday stroll, I recommend the Ruth Bancroft Garden in Walnut Creek, CA.
“I have had to watch as loved ones harmed themselves on the outside because it felt better than the pain they felt on the inside. My why for joining Charlie Health is to be even the smallest ray of sunshine for people like them and to be an answer when it feels like there is none.”
Fun Fact
I am not only a Disney Adult, I am also a Potterhead!

After experiencing firsthand the difficulties of navigating the service delivery space and not having the resources to serve my community best, it is an honor to be part of Charlie Health’s mission.”
